Featuring in Biennale of Sydney

Adrift Lab is thrilled to have been selected as one of the exhibitors for the 2020 Sydney Biennale - one of the leading international contemporary art events, recognised for commissioning and presenting innovative, thought provoking art from Australia and around the globe.

"One of Adrift Lab's goals is to communicate science and strengthen the bond between science and teh arts"
— Dr Jennifer Lavers

Adrift Lab’s piece focuses on the impact of plastic on marine wildlife and environments, and will utilise plastic debris from three of Adrift Lab’s research sites: Lord Howe Island, the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, and Henderson Island. The exhibit is presented in collaboration with Detached Cultural Organisation at Cockatoo Island in Sydney, where over 700,000 people are expected to participate in the 2020 Biennale.
