BIG NEWS: Adrift Lab's upcoming expedition to Ducie Atoll

🌴BIG NEWS🌴 #AdriftLab are thrilled to be invited back to the #PitcairnIslands this February! Drs Jenn Lavers and Alex Bond will be visiting #DucieAtoll to support the #PitcairnMPA. Ducie is an uninhabited coral cay 470 km east of #Pitcairn in the remote #SouthPacific.

Our team is there to conduct #plastic surveys & a #seabird health check in collaboration with the Natural History Museum (London), Charles Sturt University, the University of Lincoln (UK), and Esperance Tjaltjraak Native Title Aboriginal Corporation.

While this is one of the most remote corners of our planet, our ship (MV Silver Supporter â›´) has wifi, enabling us to share photos and stories along the way. Follow our progress and discoveries on our website (here!) and social pages soon - we'll be blogging with Australian schools, answering questions from students in real time (or...as fast as we can from the middle of nowhere).

Our thanks to the Pitcairn community for welcoming us back, and to the UK Government's #BlueBelt program for organising and funding the 2024 research expedition.
