Conservation Volunteers Australia visit Adrift Lab
This week the team from Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) met with the Adrift Lab team in Hobart.
FULL π― credit to our remarkable Adrift students (extra special shout out to Lillian) for organizing this event – the students were single handedly responsible for booking the venue, delivering the presentations, and ultimately the success of the day – what a team!
Around 20 folks from CVA spent the afternoon listening to presentations on the #PlasticPollution crisis and engaging in discussion about career/education opportunities in marine science.
Feedback after the event was very encouraging:Β the CVA team appreciated the opportunity to engage with the plastics issue in a new way. Their team sometimes feels disheartened after cleaning beaches and removing 1000s of tiny plastic particles, even in remote locations π₯Ή Speaking directly with those undertaking research to better understand and mitigate this issue gave them the energy and information they needed to keep going (love your work!!)
