ABC News Features Bolus Project

ABC Northern Tasmania published an article covering one of Adrift Lab’s bolus processing workshops with students from the University of Tasmania’s Children’s University program. The workshop was delivered by Peter Puskic, and is one of many he’s co-hosted this year. The story was also featured on ABC television (national broadcast), which speaks to the importance of the plastics issue, and role for citizen scientists.

We’re kind of killing our planet, no one really cares about anything but humans
— Solly Feldheim, Student

The article was published the same day that Lillian Stewart officially began her Honours project, which will generate a second year of data through hosting additional bolus workshops. She will use these data to assess the impact of plastic pollution on the health of Tasmanian Pacific Gulls, and identify potential mitigation strategies.
